The text inscribed in this work includes the first sentences of the book of Genesis written in Samaritan script, a language and alphabet which is a precursor to Aramaic and Modern Hebrew. The Samaritan Israelite Pentateuch and the Masoretic Pentateuch (current Judaic text) are offshoots of a common ancient text. The sentences here are identical in both versions.
